Bolivian rosé salt | granulate | 2-4 mm

Product information "Bolivian rosé salt | granulate | 2-4 mm"

What is it about / Product description

Bolivian rose salt is a pure natural rock salt from the high plateaus of the Andes and stands out thanks to its evenly pink-colored crystals. The coarse 2–4 mm granules are visually reminiscent of rose quartz and are ideal for salt and spice mills. Its fine, mild and clear salty taste refines dishes subtly without masking their own aromas.

Protected for millions of years by a layer of volcanic rock, this rock salt has been largely shielded from modern environmental influences. The natural iron content creates the characteristic rose color and complements a harmonious mineral profile. In Biova quality, the granules are carefully selected, evenly granulated and offered in bulk without chemical additives or anti-caking agents.

In the kitchen, Bolivian rose salt can be used universally – from everyday seasoning to decorative finishing. The coarse granules are perfect for mills, for adding salt at the table or for creating your own spice blends with Biova rock salts. This way you give meat, fish, poultry, vegetables and side dishes a subtle mineral note, color and a touch of Andean character.

Origin

The rock salt comes from the western Bolivian Andes, where it lies deep in the mountains beneath a protective volcanic layer. The dry high-altitude climate contributes to the natural purity and stability of the deposits. Biova specifically selects particularly high-quality pink rock salt deposits.

Cultivation / Production / Harvest

As a classic rock salt, the product is mined from underground salt veins. The crystals are mostly loosened and sorted by hand and then gently crushed until the granulated grain size of 2–4 mm is achieved. Chemical additives, anti-caking agents or bleaching are consistently avoided.

Special features

Characteristic is the delicate, even rose coloration caused by the natural iron content. Compared to many other rock salts, this Andean salt offers a mild, well-rounded flavor profile and a decorative appearance. As bulk goods, it is ideal for gastronomy, delicatessens and manufacturers who create their own blends with Biova rock salts.

Differences in origin and processing

In contrast to sea salt from evaporation ponds, this product comes from ancient, deep-lying deposits that were protected by volcanic rock for a long time. As a result, the rose rock salt remains largely free from current environmental influences. The gentle, partly manual processing preserves the natural crystal structure and distinguishes it from industrially refined table salts.

Taste & aroma

Sensory-wise, the salt is fine and mild, clearly salty and without sharp or bitter notes. It has no dominant inherent smell and blends neutrally into different culinary styles. This makes it excellent as a universal seasoning salt for everyday and fine cuisine.

Possible applications

  • As a coarse salt in the mill for daily seasoning of meat, fish and poultry dishes
  • For refining vegetables, baked potatoes, salads and vegetarian dishes
