Muscovado sugar | fine | 0-0.3 mm | light

Muscovado is a whole cane sugar from the island of Mauritius. The climatic conditions of the small island in the Indian Ocean are ideal and the soil conditions are perfect for sugar cane cultivation. Muscovado has a molasses content of 3-7%, therefore its consistency is very soft, clumpy and moist. The molasses is produced when the sugar juice is cooked and stirred until a viscous mass is formed. The molasses are then heated again until the remaining water has evaporated. Soft taste of toffee and malt make it unique in aroma. Muscovado gives food and warm drinks a particularly hearty sweetness. It is ideal for sweetening marinades, dark sauces, chutneys and hot drinks of all kinds.
