Salt bricks

Biova Salt brick

Salt is one of the most important and widespread elements on our earth. But it does not always have to be the fine white granules that round off the taste of our food. Salt can do so much more.

Salt is extracted worldwide from the sea or from rock. Salt mines can be found in almost all mountain massifs of the earth and depending on the occurrence and interaction of metals, the colour of the salt changes. The colour palette ranges from yellowish tones to orange and red nuances to violet shades. The advantage of extracting salt from rock is that you do not get flakes, but you can remove large pieces, which can be used for different purposes.

The other form of salt use
In recent years, there has been a worldwide trend to use salt in the form of bricks and tiles also as a building material. Their use is very diverse: Classically, salt bricks are used in saunas, where they release salts into the air due to the high heat and humidity, thus creating a pleasant climate for the sauna visitor. For a similar reason, salt walls are also often used in the wellness areas of hotels and in wellness studios. The room gets a higher air quality, but also gains in atmosphere and feel-good flair. The use of salt bricks is also becoming increasingly popular in private homes. Either as complete cladding for the bathroom walls, on the walls of the living rooms and bedrooms or in the form of decorative elements such as salt pillars, partitions as room dividers or panels on the wall. The warm shades of the salt bricks ensure relaxation. Illumination from the front or from behind gives the translucent bricks additional cosiness.
