Product information "Fleur de Sel I Origin: South Africa"
Our Fleur de Sel comes from a several centuries old salt mine in southeast South Africa. The peculiarity of this salt mine is that it is not located directly at the sea, but several hundred meters inland. The water is pumped from a subterranean seawater lake, which in turn is fed by a natural subterranean inflow from the pure waters of the Atlantic. Hot winds from the interior of the country quickly evaporate the water in the salt pans. As the brine approaches the saturation point, it is fed into smaller salt pans. The wafer-thin layer of salt that now forms on the surface of the water is carefully skimmed off by hand. These newly formed crystals are the selection of sea salt - crispy, mild and rich in minerals, yet completely pure and natural. After a short drying in the sun, the Fleur de Sel is packed and begins its journey to the spice manufacturers and temples of pleasure all over the world. Fleur de Sel from South Africa is sea salt of the purest and best quality, indispensable for the final seasoning of delicious dishes.
