Product information "Maldon sea salt flakes"
From the small town of Maldon on the English North Sea coast comes an unusual, extraordinarily good and in taste aromatic and thanks to its pyramid shape very unusual sea salt. The salt is a pure natural product and contains numerous minerals and trace elements of the sea. It has been produced for over 100 years by the Maldon Crystal Salt Company, a small family business with a long tradition. The salt is produced from pure, filtered seawater. In an ancient process, seawater is heated until the salt crystallises. What sounds very simple in the first place is in reality a high art and requires many years of experience. The decisive factors in the production process are the choice of the ¨right¨ seawater, the right temperature, exact timing and above all the traditional ¨drawing¨ of the salt by hand in the salt pans. The result is crispy, snow-white and pure sea salt crystals in pyramid form. The mildly salty Maldon salt is one of the most popular salts of star chefs and is even used by the English royal family.
