In the southwest of Africa, where the Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean, one of the most visually appealing sea salts - the African pearl salt - is created thanks to very special conditions. In this almost untouched nature with especially pure Atlantic waters, the beautiful salt beads can crystallize in a completely natural way. In order to refine the pearls, they were handed over to an experienced German master smoker, who smoked the salt pearls for about 7 days with pure beech wood shavings. While the pearls ripen for a week in beech smoke, they have a beautiful beige colour and an intense smoke aroma. The smoked salt beads are particularly suitable for the salt mill. The smoky, ham-like taste of the salt beads makes them versatile in cooking. Especially in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, this smoked salt offers an excellent opportunity for new taste nuances and thus more variety in the preparation of dishes.
