Date sugar mostly comes from oriental countries and consists of 100% ripe, pitted dates. The completely dried fruit flesh is ground into fine date powder. Scientifically speaking, date sugar is not real sugar and is therefore also sold as date sweetener. Date sugar has about the same sweetening power as refined sugar and can basically be used like normal sugar. Only for drinks is date sugar less suitable, as it dissolves only very slowly and not completely. In addition to an intense sweetness, the sugar has the slight taste of dates and a pleasant caramel note. In contrast to classic household sugar, date sugar also contains a high proportion of minerals and vitamins as well as fibre, making it a wholesome sugar. Date sugar is well suited for baking and cooking. The product tends to clump, please make sure it is stored as perfectly as possible. (packed airtight in a dry and dark place).
