Bamboo salt | fine |

Product information "Bamboo salt | fine | "

What is it about / Product description

This fine bamboo salt from Biova is a sea salt from South Korea fired in bamboo tubes with an almost powdered-sugar-like grain size. It is made from high-quality white sea salt and is gently refined according to traditional Korean methods.

Firing in bamboo tubes at high temperatures increases the mineral content of the salt and gives it a distinctly alkaline character with a pH value of around 9.9. The extremely fine grain size of less than 0.1 mm ensures a very even distribution on food and allows precise dosing in professional kitchens.

In your kitchen, bamboo salt can be used in many ways – from fine seasoning at the table to preparing hot and cold dishes. Raw vegetables, rice and millet dishes as well as dips, marinades and spice blends in particular benefit from the intense saltiness and powdery texture of this Biova sea salt.

Origin

The sea salt comes from South Korea, where the tradition of salt fired in bamboo tubes originated. The maritime climate provides pure sea salt, which is then further refined using traditional methods.

Cultivation / Production / Harvest

The starting product is pure sea salt, which is dried after harvesting and filled into prepared bamboo tubes. These are fired once at around 1000–1500 °C, after which the salt is finely ground until the characteristic powdery grain size of less than 0.1 mm is achieved.

Special features

What characterizes this Biova sea salt is its extremely fine, almost powdery grain size, which allows for very even distribution. It belongs to the white sea salts, is rich in minerals and has an alkaline pH value of approx. 9.9.

Differences in origin and processing

Unlike conventional sea salt, bamboo salt is additionally heat-treated and fired in bamboo tubes. For this variety, Biova relies on a single firing process to achieve a balanced profile of minerality, alkalinity and intense salt flavor.

Taste & aroma

In sensory terms, the salt is very salty with a clear, intense salt flavor and no coarse crystals. The aroma is neutral to slightly mineral and blends subtly into a wide variety of hot and cold dishes.

Possible applications

  • Fine seasoning of raw vegetables, salads and bowls directly at the table
  • Refining rice, millet and other grain dishes in hot cuisine
  • Use in dips, marinades and fine spice blends for a clear, mineral salt note
