Bolivian Pink Rock Salt Granules 2–4 mm

Product information "Bolivian Pink Rock Salt Granules 2–4 mm"

Product description

Bolivian pink salt is a pure, natural rock salt from the high plateaus of the Andes with evenly rose-coloured crystals. The coarse 2–4 mm granules resemble rose quartz and are ideal for salt and spice grinders.

Protected for millions of years by a layer of volcanic rock, this rock salt has been largely shielded from modern environmental influences. In Biova quality it is carefully selected as granulated bulk salt, standardised to a uniform grain size and processed without chemical additives or anti-caking agents.

In the kitchen this pink rock salt is a true all-rounder – from everyday seasoning to decorative finishing. Use it to subtly enhance meat, fish, poultry, vegetables and side dishes while adding a hint of Andean character to your Biova spice creations.

Origin

This rock salt comes from the western Bolivian Andes, where it lies deep in the mountains beneath a protective volcanic layer. The dry high-altitude climate supports the natural purity and stability of the deposits.

Cultivation / production / harvest

As a classic rock salt it is mined from underground veins and largely extracted by hand. The crystals are then cleaned, graded and gently crushed into coarse 2–4 mm granules – with no bleaching, additives or anti-caking agents.

Special features

Its delicate pink hue, caused by natural iron content, and its decorative crystalline structure are characteristic. Supplied as granulated bulk salt in Biova quality, this pink rock salt is ideal for foodservice, delicatessens and manufacturers producing their own rock salt and spice blends.

Differences in origin and processing

Unlike sea salt from evaporation ponds, this product comes from ancient, deep-lying deposits that were long protected by volcanic rock. Gentle, partly manual processing preserves the natural crystal structure and sets it apart from industrially refined table salts.

Taste & aroma

On the palate this Andean rock salt is delicately mild with a clear, clean saltiness, free from sharp or bitter notes. It has no dominant intrinsic aroma and integrates neutrally into a wide range of culinary styles, making it an excellent universal Biova seasoning salt.

Possible uses

  • As a coarse grinder salt for everyday table seasoning of meat, fish and poultry dishes.
  • For refining vegetables, baked potatoes, salads, soups and vegetarian dishes in both hot and cold applications.
  • For decorative finishing touches and for blending your own Biova spice and rock salt creations in foodservice and fine food production.
