Product information "Carolina Reaper chili | ground | red | Scoville Units: 900.000-1.200.000"

What it is / Product description

Carolina Reaper chili is one of the hottest chilies in the world and is offered by Biova as a finely ground, bright red chili powder from Ecuador. The Capsicum chinense variety combines extreme heat with a fruity, slightly sweet aroma. As professional bulk goods in approx. 1.1 kg units, this spice is specially designed for commercial use.

Thanks to its fine, slightly flaky texture, the extremely hot chili powder can be dosed precisely and worked homogeneously into both dry and liquid formulations. Biova relies on carefully selected raw materials, gentle drying and controlled grinding to keep color, capsaicin content and aroma profile as consistent as possible. This gives you a spice with well reproducible heat in the range of around 650,000 to 1,500,000 Scoville.

In professional kitchens, Carolina Reaper chili gives sauces, stews, curries, marinades, BBQ rubs and spice blends a distinctly fiery note. Even the smallest amounts are enough to significantly intensify dishes and achieve a clearly defined level of heat. Always use this chili powder with caution and gradually work your way up to the desired degree of spiciness.

Origin

The chilies come from Ecuador, where the warm climate, many hours of sunshine and nutrient-rich soils provide ideal conditions for Capsicum chinense. Even ripening and high capsaicin levels ensure consistent heat, intense aroma and the characteristically bright red color.

Cultivation / Production / Harvest

The plants are cultivated in sunny regions and left in the field until they are fully ripe. Harvesting is carried out predominantly by hand in order to select only fully ripe, red pods. After gentle drying, the chilies are finely ground and filled by Biova as free-flowing bulk goods in approx. 1.1 kg units.

Special features

It is characterized by an extremely high level of heat well above 500,001 Scoville, combined with fruity, slightly sweet notes. The fine, almost flaky texture makes it easier to dose precisely in spice blends, pastes and liquid applications. In professional use, Biova chili powder enables well reproducible heat and a consistent aroma profile.

Differences in origin and processing

Climate, soil conditions and drying method have a significant influence on capsaicin content, color and taste. The pods grown in Ecuador are distinguished by a particularly intense red color and very high heat levels. Gentle drying and homogeneous grinding at Biova result in a uniform powder that can be easily incorporated into sauces, rubs, snacks and convenience products.

Taste & aroma

In addition to the dominant, burning heat, the chili powder shows a fruity aroma with light chocolate and citrus notes. The scent is intense and reminiscent of typical capsicum aromas with a clearly perceptible spicy note. When dosed very sparingly, the fruity nuances become more pronounced and complement both hearty and sweet-spicy dishes.

Possible applications

  • For extremely hot seasoning of sauces, chilis, curries and stews in gastronomy and artisan production.
  • For fiery marinades, BBQ rubs and grill blends with a defined, very high level of heat.
  • As an intense heat component in spice blends, pastes, snacks and convenience products.
