Product information "Carolina Reaper chili powder red, 650,000–1,500,000 SHU"
Product description
Carolina Reaper is one of the hottest chilies in the world. Biova offers it as a finely ground, bright red chili powder from Ecuador. The Capsicum chinense variety combines extreme heat with a fruity, slightly sweet flavour profile.
Thanks to its fine, slightly flaky grind, this extremely hot chili powder can be dosed precisely and worked evenly into both dry and liquid recipes. Biova relies on carefully selected raw material and controlled processing to keep colour, capsaicin content and heat level as consistent as possible.
In professional use, Carolina Reaper chili powder gives sauces, stews, curries, marinades, BBQ rubs and spice blends a clearly defined, very high level of heat. Even the smallest amounts are enough to noticeably intensify dishes – always dose with care.
Origin
This Carolina Reaper chili comes from Ecuador, where the warm climate, many hours of sunshine and nutrient-rich soils offer ideal conditions for Capsicum chinense. Even ripening and high capsaicin levels result in an intense red colour and consistent heat.
Cultivation / processing / harvest
The chili plants are grown in sunny regions and left in the field until they are fully ripe. After the predominantly manual harvest of ripe, red pods, they are gently dried, finely ground and filled by Biova as free-flowing bulk product in approx. 1.1 kg bags.
Key features
Typical is the extremely high heat level of around 650,000 to 1,500,000 Scoville, combined with fruity, slightly sweet notes. The fine, almost flaky grind makes exact dosing in spice blends, pastes and liquid applications easier and makes Biova chili powder particularly suitable for professional users.
Differences in origin and processing
Climate, soil and drying method have a strong influence on capsaicin content, colour and flavour. Carolina Reaper pods grown in Ecuador are characterised by very high heat values and an especially bright red colour; gentle drying and homogeneous grinding at Biova produce an even powder for sauces, rubs, snacks and convenience products.
Taste & aroma
Alongside its dominant, burning heat, Carolina Reaper chili powder shows a fruity aroma with light chocolate and citrus notes. The smell is intense, typically Capsicum, with a clearly perceptible pungency; when used very sparingly, the fruity nuances come to the fore.
Suggested uses
- For extremely hot seasoning of sauces, chilis, curries and stews in foodservice and artisan production.
- For fiery marinades, BBQ rubs and grill blends with a clearly defined, very high heat level.
- As an intense heat component in spice blends, pastes, snacks and convenience products.
