Cinnamon blossoms | whole | 3-6 mm

Product information "Cinnamon blossoms | whole | 3-6 mm"

What is it about / Product description

Cinnamon blossoms are the dried buds of the cassia cinnamon tree from China and are also called cinnamon buds or cinnamon cloves. The whole, approximately 3–6 mm large brown blossoms visually resemble small cloves. Their aroma is warm, cinnamony and slightly sweet, milder and more delicate than classic cinnamon.

Thanks to gentle drying and careful sorting, Biova offers a uniform grain size that allows precise dosing. The natural cinnamon blossoms contain the typical cassia cinnamon aroma without additives or flavorings. This gives you a pure spice in consistent quality for creative cooking.

Cinnamon blossoms can be used in many ways in sweet and savory recipes, for example in pastries, desserts, hot drinks or stews. They can be cooked whole and then removed again, or crushed in a mortar as needed. This way you can add the characteristic cinnamon blossom aroma specifically to punch, curries and oriental-inspired dishes.

Origin

The buds come from the cassia cinnamon tree from selected growing regions in China. The warm, humid climate promotes the development of an intense yet harmonious aroma. Biova focuses on reliable origin and consistent quality of the brown cinnamon blossoms.

Cultivation / Production / Harvest

The cinnamon buds are harvested shortly before blooming, when the content of essential oils is particularly well balanced. They are then gently air-dried and sorted by size to ensure a grain size of approximately 3–6 mm. Processing is dry and without additives, resulting in a natural spice.

Special features

Compared to ground cinnamon, whole cinnamon blossoms offer a finer, less dominant aroma and remain aromatic for longer. Visually they resemble cloves, but differ clearly in taste. Biova places great value on an even brown color, clean buds and a grain size that is easy to dose.

Differences in origin and processing

Depending on the region in China, cassia cinnamon buds can vary slightly in intensity and oil content. Crucial are careful harvesting at the optimal ripeness and gentle drying. Uniform sorting makes it easier to use them in spice blends, for grinding and for daily dosing.

Taste & smell

Cinnamon blossoms smell warm, cinnamony and subtly sweet without being overpowering. In taste they show a delicate spiciness with a typical cassia note, but milder than classic cinnamon. Their aromatic scent and brown color make them a distinctive spice for sweet and savory dishes.
