Product information "Fine German rock salt 0.2–0.7 mm, white, natural"
Product description
Discover German rock salt from central German deposits, finely ground and left completely natural as an edible salt. Its bright white colour and uniform grain size of 0.2–0.7 mm make it a versatile pantry staple for professional kitchens, catering and food manufacturers.
Biova has this rock salt gently processed, cleaned and precisely sieved to create a homogeneous, free-flowing product with no additives. The fine grain size ensures consistent dosing and makes it easy to work with in spice blends, deli products and bulk production.
In everyday cooking as well as in professional use, German rock salt is highly versatile – from soups and sauces to vegetable and meat dishes and baked goods. Thanks to the fine grain it dissolves quickly and is ideal for salt shakers, marinades and doughs.
Origin
This rock salt is sourced exclusively in Germany and mined from deep deposits in central Germany. It originates from the prehistoric Zechstein Sea, whose evaporation left behind thick salt layers that are now mined underground.
Cultivation / production / harvest
As a classic rock salt, this product is not cultivated but extracted by underground mining. The rock salt is mined, then cleaned, finely milled and sieved to a grain size of 0.2–0.7 mm before Biova packs it in bulk or in bags.
Key features
Typical are its natural composition without additives and its uniform, fine grain. Unlike iodised table salt, this white German rock salt offers very good flow properties and is ideal for spice manufacturers, caterers and large-scale users.
Origin and processing differences
Unlike sea salt, which is obtained by evaporating seawater, rock salt is mined from solid underground deposits. The fine grinding and careful sieving chosen by Biova clearly distinguish this product from coarse or flaky salt types.
Taste & aroma
In sensory terms, German rock salt tastes cleanly and distinctly salty and neutral, without intrusive side notes. It has no noticeable smell and subtly supports the flavours of food, making it a universal cooking and table salt for hot and cold dishes.
Suggested uses
- Everyday seasoning of soups, sauces, vegetable and meat dishes in professional and commercial kitchens
- As a fine table salt in shakers or as a base for spice blends, marinades and deli products
