Fine Guérande sea salt 0.1–1.0 mm

Product information "Fine Guérande sea salt 0.1–1.0 mm"

Product description

Guérande sea salt is harvested by hand in the traditional salt marshes on France’s Atlantic coast. Its fine grain size of 0.1–1.0 mm and naturally grey‑white colour make this sea salt a versatile kitchen salt for everyday cooking and professional use.

Because it is produced gently without refining, Biova sea salt remains non‑iodised, unprocessed and largely retains its original crystal structure. As a fine, slightly flaky sea salt supplied in bulk, it is easy to dose and to process further.

In the kitchen, fine Guérande sea salt is ideal for cooking, seasoning and finishing a wide range of dishes. Thanks to its well‑balanced saltiness, it is also well suited for spice blends, bread and roll doughs as well as for use in foodservice and artisan production.

Origin

This sea salt comes from the Guérande region in Brittany in western France. Atlantic winds, clean seawater and plenty of sunshine create ideal conditions for traditional salt production in shallow salt pans.

Cultivation / production / harvest

Seawater is channelled into basins and slowly concentrated by sun and wind until salt crystals form on the clay‑rich ground. Experienced salt workers harvest the salt by hand using wooden tools. It is then simply dried and sieved to the fine grain size of 0.1–1.0 mm – completely free from chemical additives.

Special features

Its slightly grey‑white colour is characteristic and results from contact with mineral‑rich clay. Unlike refined table salt, Biova Atlantic sea salt is unrefined, non‑iodised and natural, and is offered as a fine, flaky sea salt in convenient bulk packaging.

Differences in origin and processing

In contrast to industrially evaporated vacuum salt, Guérande sea salt is obtained exclusively through natural evaporation. Traditional hand harvesting, the clay‑rich subsoil and gentle drying give Biova sea salt its typical grey‑white colour and well‑balanced flavour profile.

Taste & aroma

On the palate, this sea salt shows a clear, robust saltiness that enhances flavours without overpowering them. The taste is round and harmonious with a subtle mineral note, while the aroma remains discreet and neutral.
