Origin

The pyramid salt is obtained from Indian Ocean seawater and processed in Pakistan. The warm, dry climate with intense sunlight promotes natural evaporation. This creates a high-quality sea salt with a clear, white color.

Cultivation / Production / Harvest

For Biova pyramid salt, seawater is directed into shallow evaporation ponds and concentrated there into a brine solely by sun and wind. As soon as the brine is saturated, fine crystal skins form on the surface, from which the typical pyramids slowly “grow”.

Special features

The delicate salt pyramids are harvested by experienced salt workers by hand with special tools before they sink. They are then dried in drying houses using only solar energy. The result is a genuine Fleur de Sel in pyramid form with an especially delicate structure.

Differences in origin and processing

Compared to classic sea salt from industrial boiling, this flake salt is created purely through natural evaporation. Manual harvesting ensures largely intact pyramids and a decorative appearance. Regional conditions and traditional techniques give Biova salt its characteristic style.
