Product information "Greek pyramid salt | flakes | 1-12 mm"
What is it about / Product description
Biova's Greek pyramid salt is a fine flake salt with a characteristic pyramid shape and delicate white color. It is obtained from pure sea brine and impresses with its light, crispy texture. The decorative salt flakes refine dishes both visually and in terms of taste.
The gentle production process creates particularly thin, hollow crystals with a mild, salty aroma. The flaky grain size of around 1–12 mm can be easily crumbled between the fingers and is ideal as a finishing salt for final seasoning. Biova places great value on careful selection of raw materials and consistently high quality.
In the kitchen, Greek pyramid salt offers a wide range of uses, from a simple table salt to a finishing touch for fine dishes. Sprinkle the salt pyramids over meat, fish, vegetables or salads just before serving to enhance texture and flavor. This flake salt is also an interesting alternative to conventional sea salt for creative food presentations and upscale gastronomy.
Origin
The salt flakes come from the coastal region of Greece with its Mediterranean climate and clean seawater. The Aegean Sea offers ideal conditions for the production of high-quality sea salts. The combination of sun, wind and traditional know-how shapes the quality of this flake salt.
Cultivation / Production / Harvest
For Biova flake salt, sea brine is taken from a particularly pure coastal section and filtered several times. The brine is gently heated in stainless steel kettles until fine salt pyramids form on the surface. These are carefully skimmed off by hand and then dried to preserve their delicate structure.
Special features
Characteristic are the light, pyramid-shaped crystals, which differ clearly from compact sea salt grains. The flaky structure ensures a pleasant mouthfeel and an even distribution of salt. Compared to many standard salts, this product is a visual highlight and is particularly suitable as a finishing salt.
Differences in origin and processing
In contrast to classic sea salts from salt gardens, Greek pyramid salt is specifically crystallized in heated basins. This creates the typical hollow pyramid flakes. Careful hand harvesting and low mechanical stress distinguish it from industrially produced, broken salts.
Taste & Smell
Sensory-wise, the flake salt is mild and salty with a clear, clean note. The fine crystals dissolve quickly and leave no unpleasant aftertaste. Its neutral smell makes it easy to combine with different ingredients.
