Product information "Organic Bird’s Eye Chili, ground"
Product description
Organic Bird’s Eye chilies from certified cultivation are processed into a finely ground, intensely red chili powder known for its pronounced heat. The small pods deliver a clean, direct heat profile that is easy to dose with precision.
Careful drying and milling preserve the typical aroma of these Capsicum frutescens chilies. Biova focuses on consistent quality and defined heat levels so you can use this spice reliably and with reproducible results.
Ground Bird’s Eye chili is ideal for adding heat to soups, sauces, curries and stews. The fine, slightly flaky powder gives Asian, African and Mediterranean dishes as well as BBQ sauces a controlled, intense spiciness.
Origin
The Bird’s Eye chilies used by Biova come mainly from Uganda, India and Tanzania. The combination of tropical climate, strong sunshine and fertile soils promotes even ripening and a high concentration of aroma in the pods.
Cultivation / production / harvest
The chili plants are grown outdoors in warm regions and harvested by hand once the pods have ripened from green to bright red. After gentle drying, the fruits are milled into a fine to slightly flaky powder and carefully packed in bulk.
Characteristics
Bird’s Eye chili is one of the particularly hot chili varieties, typically rated between 100,000 and 140,000 Scoville. Biova’s chili powder stands out for its intense colour, fine particle size and excellent solubility in liquids and oils.
Differences in origin and processing
Depending on the country of origin, there are slight variations in fruitiness and perceived heat, but always within the defined Scoville range. Uniform milling at Biova ensures that the powder can be dosed and processed consistently, regardless of origin.
Taste & aroma
Ground Bird’s Eye chili delivers direct, long-lasting heat with lightly fruity notes reminiscent of Thai chilies. On the nose it shows a clear, spicy chili aroma without smoky or roasted notes – ideal for pure, hot cooking styles.
