Product information "Organic cracked anise 1–2 mm from Turkey"
Product description
Biova organic anise comes from certified organic farming in Turkey and is cracked to a coarse particle size of around 1–2 mm. The light to medium brown seed pieces offer a sweet-spicy, slightly liquorice-like aroma reminiscent of fennel and star anise.
Thanks to its granulated structure, this organic spice combines the advantages of whole and ground anise seeds: it is intensely aromatic, creates less dust and is easy to dose. Gentle processing at Biova helps preserve the essential oils and ensures consistent quality.
In the kitchen, cracked organic anise is ideal for baked goods, tea blends, spice mixes and savoury dishes. The 1–2 mm granulation distributes evenly in doughs, marinades or infusions, making it a great choice for foodservice, artisan producers and demanding home kitchens.
Origin
The anise seeds come from Turkey, a traditional growing region with a warm, rather dry climate. These conditions promote even ripening and a harmoniously sweet-spicy aroma, which Biova uses for its organic anise raw material.
Cultivation / production / harvest
The anise is grown in accordance with organic standards without synthetic pesticides. After harvesting, the fruits are gently dried, cleaned and then mechanically cracked to a particle size of around 1–2 mm without significant heating.
Special features
As a coarsely cracked, granulated spice, this bulk product is particularly user-friendly and significantly less dusty than finely ground anise. The structure supports good aroma stability and can be further milled if required, making Biova anise highly versatile.
Differences in origin and processing
Anise from Turkey is known for its well-balanced sweet-liquorice profile and is preferred for baked goods, tea and spirits. The gentle mechanical cracking distinguishes this product from powdered anise, which can lose intensity more quickly.
Taste & aroma
On the palate, organic anise is sweet, warm and clearly reminiscent of liquorice, fennel and fine herbal notes. The aroma is intense and unfolds particularly well when heated or infused with hot water, developing the typical anise flavour in pastries, teas and liqueurs.
