Organic fine raw cane sugar from Laos, 0.3–0.8 mm

Product information "Organic fine raw cane sugar from Laos, 0.3–0.8 mm"

Product description

Biova organic raw cane sugar comes from Laos, where the tropical climate and fertile soils provide ideal conditions for sugar cane. The fine crystal size of around 0.3–0.8 mm ensures even sweetness, good flow properties and rapid solubility.

Gentle processing in line with EU organic standards preserves the typical cane sugar character with its light molasses content. Biova focuses on a defined particle size and consistent bulk quality so the sugar can be precisely dosed and reliably processed further.

In the kitchen, this fine cane sugar is equally suitable for baked goods, desserts and hot or cold drinks. It also delivers a mild, aromatic sweetness for a wide range of uses in delicatessen products, artisan manufacture and food processing.

Origin

This organic raw cane sugar comes from Laos, a region with a tropical climate, abundant rainfall and nutrient-rich soils. These conditions support uniform sugar cane growth and provide Biova with a stable, high-quality raw material.

Cultivation / production / harvest

The sugar cane is grown in accordance with EU organic regulations, without synthetic crop protection agents. After harvest, the juice is pressed, concentrated, crystallised, gently dried and sieved to obtain the fine 0.3–0.8 mm grain size for bulk supply.

Characteristics

A natural molasses content gives the sugar its cream to beige colour, fine to slightly flaky texture and subtle malty-caramel notes. Unlike white refined sugar, more of the typical cane sugar flavour is retained, while solubility remains very good.

Differences in origin and processing

Depending on origin and degree of refining, raw cane sugar can vary in colour, aroma and crystal size. The Laotian origin combined with the defined fine grain results in a light-coloured, easily soluble sugar that retains more of the natural components of cane juice than more heavily refined varieties.

Taste & aroma

On the palate, it offers a mild sweetness with subtle malty-caramel nuances and a gentle cane sugar aroma. The fine crystal structure helps distribute sweetness evenly in doughs, mixes and beverages.

  • Sweetening cakes, cookies, batters and yeast doughs in home baking and bakeries
  • For desserts, creams, muesli, yoghurt, fruit preparations and delicatessen products
