Product information "Organic Lemon Myrtle cut 2–4 mm"
Product description
Biova Organic Lemon Myrtle is an aromatic organic citrus spice from Australia, supplied as a green leaf granulate with a particle size of around 2–4 mm. The cut lemon myrtle leaves deliver a clean, intensely lemony aroma with fine eucalyptus nuances.
Gentle drying and careful processing give this Biova herb granulate consistently high quality and a very concentrated aroma. The coarse, granulated and crushed structure remains visible in spice blends and is easy to dose.
In the kitchen, organic lemon myrtle is extremely versatile – from fish and poultry to vegetables, desserts and drinks. Thanks to its strong seasoning power, only a small amount is needed, making this citrus spice ideal for seasoning salts, dressings and bespoke citrus blends.
Origin
The lemon myrtle comes from Australia, where this evergreen shrub grows in subtropical regions close to the rainforests. The mild climate and well-drained, sandy-stony soils promote a high content of essential oils.
Cultivation / production / harvest
The plants are grown organically under controlled conditions in selected locations and harvested at optimum maturity. After harvesting, the leaves are gently dried and then cut to a coarse size of approx. 2–4 mm.
Characteristics
Its hallmark is the combination of an intense lemon fragrance with subtle balsamic notes reminiscent of eucalyptus. The granulated, coarsely crushed structure of the green leaf granulate is particularly suitable for bulk packs and professional use.
Differences in origin and processing
Australian lemon myrtle is considered the reference quality because it grows in the shrub’s natural range. Compared with lemongrass or lemon verbena, its aroma is clearer and more intense, while the 2–4 mm cut size allows controlled release of flavour.
Taste & aroma
On the nose it shows a very fresh, dominant lemon bouquet reminiscent of lemon peel. On the palate, lemon myrtle offers an intense yet harmonious citrus note without pronounced bitterness, so even small amounts give food and drinks a distinct aroma.

- Seasoning fish, seafood and poultry dishes in Mediterranean and Asian recipes.
