Product information "Organic Mediterranean Sea Salt | fine | 0,2-1,0 mm"
What it is / Product description
Organic Mediterranean sea salt comes from traditional sea saltworks on the Croatian Adriatic coast. The finely ground white sea salt with a grain size of approx. 0.2–1.0 mm dissolves quickly and is ideal as a universal table salt. As a natural sea salt from Biova, it blends subtly into a wide variety of dishes.
The harvesting is carried out gently by hand, using only sun, wind and muscle power. This preserves the original structure of the sea salt and creates a high-quality bulk product for kitchens, gastronomy and food production. Biova relies on ecological production in a biodynamic ecosystem far away from industry.
In everyday cooking, organic Mediterranean sea salt is extremely versatile – from seasoning soups and sauces to flavouring vegetable, meat and fish dishes. Thanks to its fine grain size, it is easy to dose and is also suitable for salt shakers and spice blends. This makes the Mediterranean sea salt a practical companion for conscious enjoyment.
Origin
The sea salt comes from Croatia, from a shallow lagoon on the Adriatic coast. The interaction of sun, wind and clean seawater creates ideal conditions for even crystal formation. The remote location, far from heavy industry, supports consistently high quality.
Cultivation / Production / Harvest
In the sea saltworks, seawater is channelled into basins and naturally evaporated by sun and wind. After crystallisation, the sea salt is harvested by hand, dried and then milled to a fine grain size. Processing takes place without chemical additives and is designed for gentle treatment of the salt structures.
Special features
Characteristic is the combination of fine grain size and mildly salty taste, which makes dosing easier. As bulk goods, the sea salt is suitable for both private households and professional users. The traditional harvesting in a sensitive coastal ecosystem makes this Biova sea salt a consciously chosen staple product.
Differences in origin and processing
Compared to industrially refined table salt, this sea salt remains closer to its natural structure. The slow evaporation in open basins and the manual harvesting differ significantly from mechanised processes. Its origin from the Croatian Adriatic gives the salt a different mineral profile than sea salts from the Atlantic or inland seas.
Taste & aroma
The sea salt has a clear, mildly salty taste without intrusive bitter notes. It supports the inherent flavours of foods without overpowering them. In terms of aroma, it is neutral and blends unobtrusively into both cold and hot dishes.
