Product information "Organic Mediterranean sea salt | medio plus | 1-3 mm"
What is it about / Product description
Organic Mediterranean sea salt from the Croatian Nin saltworks is traditionally obtained from clean seawater and gently dried. The medium-coarse white crystals with a grain size of 1–3 mm dissolve evenly and provide a mild, clear salt note in the kitchen.
Thanks to the artisanal production in Biova’s partner saltworks, the sea salt remains natural, unrefined and free from additives or anti-caking agents. The granulated structure flows well, is easy to dose and is suitable both for bulk buyers and for everyday use in the household.
In use, the organic Mediterranean sea salt proves to be versatile: it refines vegetables, pasta, fish, meat, salads and soups as well as Mediterranean oven dishes. The 1–3 mm grain size is ideal as a grinder salt, for seasoning at the table, for marinades, pickling and salt crusts.
Origin
The sea salt comes from Croatia, from the Nin seawater saltworks on the Adriatic coast. Sunny summers, constant winds and the balanced Mediterranean climate create ideal conditions for natural evaporation and consistent Biova quality.
Cultivation / Production / Harvest
For this Biova sea salt, seawater is directed into shallow evaporation ponds and concentrated exclusively by sun and wind. After crystallisation, the salt is harvested by hand, gently dried and sieved to produce an even, granulated grain size of 1–3 mm.
Special features
The organic Mediterranean sea salt is natural, unrefined and free from anti-caking agents or other additives. The medium-coarse white grain allows precise dosing, offers a pleasant mouthfeel and makes the salt ideal for bulk goods, grinders and further processing.
Differences in origin and processing
Unlike industrially produced vacuum salt, this sea salt is obtained directly from seawater through natural evaporation in lagoons. The location on the Adriatic and the consistent manual work in the Nin saltworks shape the appearance, grain size and the clear, mildly salty character of the crystals.
Taste & aroma
In sensory terms, the organic Mediterranean sea salt is mildly salty with a clear, clean salt note without dominant bitter nuances. It has no intrusive inherent odour and enhances the natural flavour of dishes instead of masking it.
