Product information "Organic oregano cut 1–4 mm from Greece"
Product description
Biova organic oregano brings authentic Mediterranean herb flavour to your kitchen. The cut leaves with a particle size of around 1–4 mm show a vibrant green colour and release an aromatic, spicy, slightly tart bouquet.
Thanks to certified organic cultivation in Greece and gentle drying, the essential oils in the organic oregano are preserved as well as possible. The granulated, coarse structure ensures even distribution of flavour in hot and cold dishes and allows for easy dosing, including in professional kitchens.
Whether pizza, pasta, tomato sauces or roasted vegetables – this cut oregano refines a wide range of Mediterranean dishes. In herb blends, marinades, dips or bakes, the Biova herb is highly versatile and pairs perfectly with thyme, basil or rosemary.
Origin
The oregano comes from Greece, where sunny, mild weather and nutrient-rich soils create ideal conditions for aromatic herbs. Selected organic growing areas ensure consistently high quality with intense colour and a characteristic fragrance.
Cultivation / production / harvest
Cultivation follows organic standards without synthetic crop protection agents or mineral nitrogen fertilisers. After harvesting, the plants are gently dried, then cut to 1–4 mm and packed as granulated bulk for high-volume users.
Special features
This Biova organic oregano is characterised by its uniform, coarse cut, which provides an attractive appearance and easy dosing. The strong green colour indicates careful drying and proper storage, making it ideal for bulk and large packs.
Differences in origin and processing
Climate, soil composition and harvest time influence the content of essential oils and thus the flavour of oregano. Greek oregano often offers a particularly intense, savoury note, which is further enhanced by gentle drying at moderate temperatures.
Taste & aroma
Oregano has a robust, savoury flavour with slightly tart, finely bitter and subtly peppery notes. The aroma is intense and herbaceous and evokes classic Mediterranean cooking with tomatoes, olive oil and garlic; when heated, the fragrance develops especially well.
Suggested uses
- As a classic pizza and pasta seasoning for tomato sauces, toppings and bakes
- In Mediterranean herb blends for antipasti, roasted vegetables, dips and dressings
- To refine marinades for vegetable, meat or meat-alternative dishes
