Organic pepper from certified organic cultivation in Sri Lanka is offered here as whole, white peppercorns. The cream-colored, smooth berries are obtained from fully ripe, soaked fruits whose skins are carefully removed. This gives you a high-quality spice for Biova’s refined, modern cuisine.

Origin

Cultivation / Production / Harvest

The pepper plants grow in mixed cultures and are harvested by hand as soon as the fruits are fully ripe and turn orange to reddish. After harvesting, the berries are soaked in water so that the pulp and skin separate from the core. The cores are then mechanically cleaned and sun-dried until they obtain their typical light color.

Special features

In contrast to black pepper, fully ripe fruits are used here, whose outer husk is completely removed. This results in an especially smooth, light berry with a clear, direct heat and a subtle intrinsic aroma.
