Product information "Organic Tumeric | ground"
What is it about / Product description
Biova organic turmeric comes from certified organic cultivation in India and is milled into a fine, bright yellow powder. The spice, also known as yellow root or Indian saffron, has a natural curcumin content of around 2.5–3.5% and is ideal as a basic spice for modern cuisine.
The gently dried rhizomes are ground to a fine to flaky consistency, resulting in an easily dosable powder with a homogeneous structure. Biova relies on consistent bulk quality with approx. 1.05 kg per unit, which supports reliable coloring and seasoning power as well as easy planning for gastronomy, manufacturers and resellers.
In use, turmeric proves to be extremely versatile – from curries, stews and rice dishes to sauces, dips and marinades. It also adds an aromatic, slightly bitter note and an intense yellow-orange color to drinks such as golden milk, smoothies or shots.
Origin
The turmeric comes from India, a traditional growing region of Curcuma longa with a warm, tropical climate and fertile soils. Selected organic farms supply single-variety batches that Biova sources according to defined quality criteria.
Cultivation / Production / Harvest
The plants are cultivated according to the guidelines of organic farming without synthetic pesticides. After harvesting, the rhizomes are cleaned, gently dried and milled into a fine / flaky powder, which is filled as bulk goods with approx. 1.05 kg per unit.
Special features
A characteristic feature is the defined curcumin content of around 2.5–3.5%, which enables consistent coloring and seasoning performance. The intensely bright yellow to orange color and the homogeneous grain size make Biova turmeric interesting both as a spice and as a natural colorant.
Differences in origin and processing
Depending on the country of origin, variety and drying process, the aroma and color intensity of turmeric can vary. Indian turmeric is characterized by a warm, earthy profile and strong yellow coloring, while standardized milling at Biova ensures a fine, even structure.
Taste & aroma
The powder has a warm, slightly woody scent reminiscent of ginger with earthy and subtly floral notes. In terms of taste, turmeric is mildly spicy and gently bitter, without dominant heat, making it ideal for curry blends, masalas and creative spice compositions.
